MovieRecorder (Ingest)
MovieRecorder, MovieRecorder
DV and MovieRecorder Control,
provide Apple Macintosh users with powerful and cost
effective ingest capabilities as well as multi-station
ingest control.
Users very often need their media to be
“edit-ready” even while the event that is being
recorded continues. MovieRecorder allows
users to either schedule recordings for later use or edits,
to record them interactively and to edit clips while they
are being captured, for example using Apple’s Final
Cut Pro. When used in conjunction with a PCI or PCIExpress
video I/O card such as those from AJA or Blackmagic Design,
MovieRecorder can capture uncompressed
standard definition and high definition video.
When used with a PCI videocard,
MovieRecorder can be used to capture video
live using most common Video Format – Uncompressed
SD/HD, DV, DVCProHD, DVCPro, etc. Video clips captured
using MovieRecorder can be used in many
Macintosh applications.
MovieRecorder DV can be used with one or
more FireWire interfaces. Your MacBook Pro vecomes a
portable studio capable of digitizing multiple streams of
video directly to your internal or external Hard Disk.
By using MovieRecorder Control, multiple
networked ingest stations can be monitored and controlled
from one workstation freeing up resources in any suite.
Additionally, you can use OnTheAir Logger
to log important events live on your file and then use the
metadata in other applications.
What’s the difference between Movie
Recorder and MovieRecorder DV?
MovieRecorder DV is designed for users of
DV and does not support formats other than DV.
MovieRecorder DV will work with cameras,
tape decks and live feeds and can accept multiple inputs.
If you need more formats or more inputs/outputs flexibility
like SDI input, you can choose
MovieRecorder (note that it’s not
DV). The difference is that it can record a maximum of two
inputs, and can not work on a MacBook Pro as it uses a
PCI-express Card, but it supports more video formats. Also
there is no Pro option for MovieRecorder DV and thus it
will not be able to control a VTR, nor add metadata.
What’s does the Pro Version add?
The Pro version is only available for the
PCI version. It adds the ability to control a VTR using the
RS-422 port of the Video card. Thus enabling to have batch
captures of clips that resides on tape. With the Pro
Version you will also be able to record Metadata in your
Quicktime File, making it the ideal companion for Final Cut
Server integration. The pro option is enabled in the Demo
Version of the software.
Price: $ 1.095 or
€
695 (plus tax) without the Pro Option.
